33-year-old motorcycle rider dies in south Durham crash

A man riding a motorcycle died Tuesday morning when he crashed into a vehicle that turned in front of him in Durham, police said.

Durham, N.C. — A man riding a motorcycle died Tuesday morning when he crashed into a vehicle that turned in front of him in Durham, police said.

The fatal crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. when a northbound 2013 Ford transit van driven by Benjamin Parker Bradenburg, 44, of Durham, tried to make a left turn onto Interstate 40 east from N.C. Highway 55. Bradenburg collided with a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Johnathan David Oneal, 33, of Durham, police said.

Oneal was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers cited Bradenburg for misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
